This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure work. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable collaborating with a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate cost estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within deadlines
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost histories
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in electrical estimating or related construction field preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with design-build projects
- Knowledge of local codes and industry standards
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
