Electrical Construction
Electrical construction is the core of what Gumpher Electric provides to our communities. Our IBEW union workforce handles the full electrical scope on construction projects of all sizes, with our own trained crews doing the work from start to finish. The same standard of quality carries through every phase of every job, and that consistency is something clients and general contractors can count on across every project we touch.
Capabilities
Gumpher Electric takes on the complete electrical scope on a project. Our crews are trained and equipped to handle complex, large-scale electrical systems and everything in between.
Work we perform includes:
- Power distribution, switchgear, and panelboard installation
- Lighting systems and lighting controls
- Motor controls, starters, and variable frequency drives
- Fire alarm and life safety systems
- Low voltage, data, and communication infrastructure
- Site utilities, underground conduit, and ductbank
- Temporary and construction power
- Equipment connections, terminations, and startup
- Conduit systems, cable tray, and wire management
- Building systems integration and coordination
If it is part of the electrical scope, Gumpher Electric has the workforce and experience to handle it.

Our Workforce
Every project is executed by IBEW union electricians who are trained, accountable, and take ownership of the work they put in place. The union structure means consistent craft standards, ongoing training, and a workforce that understands what quality work looks like and holds itself to it.
Crews are led by experienced foremen and general foremen who manage the day-to-day execution on site, coordinate with the project team, and keep work moving according to plan. That layer of experienced field leadership is what keeps large, complex jobs organized and on track.
The workforce scales with the work. Whether a project requires a small crew for a focused scope or a large team managing multiple systems across a major build, Gumpher Electric has the manpower and organization to staff it appropriately and keep production moving.
Project Delivery
Gumpher Electric works within a range of project delivery methods and adapts to what the project requires. Design-build, design-bid-build, construction manager at risk, and negotiated work are all part of how projects come together, and the team is experienced working within each of those structures.
Early involvement is encouraged whenever possible. Getting into a project at the preconstruction stage allows for better coordination, more accurate planning, and fewer surprises once work begins. General contractors and owners who bring Gumpher Electric in early get a more complete picture of the electrical scope before mobilization.

Pre-Construction & Prefabrication
At Gumpher Electric, projects are our top priority, which is why we invest heavily in our technology and our process. Before boots are on the ground, every site is reviewed for constructability, labor efficiency, and sequencing. Efficiency points are identified early, and trade coordination begins before mobilization to eliminate conflicts before they cost time or money on site. Through our VDC process, using technology like the Trimble® 3D laser scanner and labor planning tools, we build clear installation plans that maximize efficiency from the start.
That upfront investment allows us to:
Manage Costs
- Lock in material purchasing and procurement strategy early
- Reduce waste through better planning and fewer last-minute decisions
- Coordinate layouts and sequencing before work begins, so schedules stay intact
Control The Environment
Manage Labor
- Field crews stay focused on installation rather than fabrication
- Controlled conditions produce more consistent, higher quality assemblies
- On-site congestion and material handling are reduced
- Field labor hours come down, and so does the risk of rework
